There’s so much to do in Silverthorne and perhaps one favorite past time is biking. From mountain biking to downhill biking, to even cruising, Silverthorne has the best trails with the most beautiful scenic routes you could have ever asked for.

If the whole family is looking for an easy bike trail that everyone can enjoy, they can always bike the Blue. If you’re unsure of how the trail is going to be or you’ve never ridden it before, it’s okay, you’re not alone. Luckily, many people have logged their trails to show you how long a certain trail will last as well as the elevation. For photos and videos of local trails make sure to check out the Summit County Biking Guide. If anything, it’s enough to get you started.

To start out, it’s always a good idea to take on a beginner’s trail such as the Bakerville Loveland Valley trail. With a steady incline up a dirt road and a u-turn at the top, this is the perfect trail for getting back into the swing of things. The good news; it’s all downhill from here. Another beginner’s trail is Salt Lick. It’s a smooth ride and a short one at that.

For those looking for a little more adventure, you can try the Ptarmigan trail. The ‘p’ is silent for pretty. The views on this trail are astounding and riders can choose between two paths to take. Keep in mind to take it slow if it’s your first time on this trail because there are some steep hills and bumps in the road. There’s also the Dillon Dam path for those who are looking for more of a challenge when it comes to riding a bike.
