According to community dinner spokeswoman Deb Hage, the Dec. 22 weekly free meal at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne served 211 people. Of that 47 were children.

Food Hedz Global Cafe, located next door to Wells Fargo in Frisco, delivered a “delicious and hearty” beef stew, Hage said.

“Other good news involves our finances,” Hage said in an e-mail. “We have been given two donations from private individuals totaling $750, the Town of Silverthorne has granted us $1,500 and the Summit Foundation has granted us $4,000. We are grateful for their generosity!”

The community dinner relies on donations to feed needy locals in Summit County.
