Silverthorne Elementary PTA thanks community for carnival support

CONNIE ANGELL, PTA PRESIDENT

The Silverthorne Elementary PTA held their annual Winter Carnival to raise money for the school this past Saturday, March 4. The community spent over $8,800 at this event. What a terrific accomplishment that took countless hours from many volunteers, including teachers and staff members of Silverthorne Elementary (that includes the janitors), parents, community members and middle school students who worked the games for community service hours and local businesses. Thanks to all who volunteered and assisted in this wonderful event, and a special thanks to Donna Horii for all her time and effort in coordinating the Winter Carnival.Another special thank-you goes out to all the businesses (most from Summit County, but some from surrounding areas, including Denver) that through their generosity allowed the Winter Carnival’s silent auction to raise $6,000! Your special caring is much appreciated. And thanks to all the families not directly involved with Silverthorne Elementary that took the time to come to the carnival and provide support to the school. We have a lot of plans for the money raised that will benefit the school’s staff and students directly. We could not have done it without the generosity and help of so many.
