Silverthorne Nordic Center opens for the season

The Silverthorne Nordic Center opened Dec. 15, free to the public for the seventh year in a row. This recreation facility was established in 2001 by the Town of Silverthorne through the work of its Silverthorne Parks, Open Space Recreation and Trails (SPORT) Committee and offers the public free access to groomed trails. The Silverthorne Nordic Center, is operated in cooperation with East West Partners, is located at the Raven Golf Course, 2929 Golden Eagle Road. A highlight of the winter activities at the Silverthorne Nordic Center is the seventh annual Swift Skedaddle Snowshoe Race to be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, starting at 10 a.m. For more information about the Swift Skedaddle, call Joanne Breigenzer at (970) 262-7373 or e-mail
