Silverthorne resident dies at 49

SILVERTHORNE – Services will be held Jan. 3 at the Elk’s Lodge in Silverthorne for Peter Hartt, who died at a Denver health care facility Dec. 19 at the age of 49.

Hartt, a 25-year Silverthorne resident, was born May 3, 1954, to Kathleen and Frank Hartt of Fort Kent, Maine. He worked as a truck driver for 25 years, was a member of the Elks Lodge #2561 and enjoyed fly-fishing, skiing and most recently, gold panning.

He is survived by brothers John of Marlboro, Mass., Louis of Eagle Lake, Maine, David of Fort Kent, Maine and Tim of Wallagrass, Maine; sisters Ellen Franks of Stevens-ville, Mont., and Elizabeth Betty Hartt of Bonita Springs, Fla. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Christian mass and burial will be held May 29, 2004, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent.

Those who wish can donate contributions to the charity of their choice.

A celebration and memorial of “Uncle” Peter Hartt’s life will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Jan. 3 at the Summit County Elks Lodge #2561 in Silverthorne. Bring photos and stories to share. Donations for the family’s expenses will be accepted.
