Silverthorne seeks applicants for town council vacancy

The town of Silverthorne is seeking applicants to fill a two-year vacancy on the town council.

The vacancy was left by former town councilman Bruce Butler, who was sworn in Wednesday, April 9 as mayor.

Local residents interested in fulfilling the term can submit a letter of interest to town clerk Michele Miller. Letters can be hand delivered at Silverthorne Town Hall, 601 Center Circle; mailed to P.O. Box 1309, Silverthorne, CO 80498; or emailed to

The deadline to submit letters is noon Friday, April 18. A special town council meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 to interview applicants. The town council will make the appointment during its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, April 23.

To be eligible for the vacancy, applicants must be registered voters and have resided in the town of Silverthorne for at least one year prior to the appointment.
