Daily News staff report

On June 22, the Silverthorne Town Council declared a vacant seat in response to Darrick Wade’s resignation.

Under the Home Rule Charter, council members must appoint an eligible replacement to fill the vacancy no sooner than 10 days from the declaration of vacancy and no later than 30 days from the declaration date.

Interviews with candidates are to be held at a special meeting Tuesday. Whoever is appointed to office will serve to the end of the term – April 2012.

Also at the meeting, council members will:

• Hear presentations on the Interstate 70 interchange as well as wildfire preparation,

• Consider accepting the low bid of $63,653 from AGS Construction, Inc. of Littleton for stucco replacement at the Joint Sewer Authority. Council approved $130,000 for the project as part of the 2011-12 budget. It will also consider permitting access to the plant to be relocated,

• Evaluate plans for a public works facility, public works storage yard, a Lake Dillon Fire Station and Cottonwood Park in Silverthorne.
