Silverthorne:’Italy: Tourist to Mountain Climber’ slide show Friday

John Warner knows how to pack a lot of experiences into his trips and his visit to Italy last April and May was no exception. See his slides and learn about his latest adventure at the next Friends of the Summit County Library travel series at 7 p.m. on Friday, in the Blue River Room of the North Branch Library, 651 Center Circle in Silverthorne.

Warner began his trip with friends for some ski mountaineering near Chamonix where they climbed Mount Dolent east of Mount Blanc.

During the next part of the trip, Warner and his wife explored the Chianti region around San Gimignano and then finished up in Rome.

The slide show is free, but donations are appreciated and help the Friends of the Libraries purchase books and other supplies. For more info, call (970) 468-5887.
