Silverthorne’s North Pond Park closed for season

Ice activities, including ice skating and ice fishing, at North Pond Park are closed for the season. Ice closure signs have been placed around the pond to notify park visitors of ice conditions that will no longer support recreational activities.

“North Pond is somewhat unique because it is spring fed, so although we still have cold ambient temperatures, the ice always begins to thaw significantly around this time each year,” public works director Bill Linfield said.

North Pond Park is located at the intersection of Highway 9 and Hamilton Creek Road, immediately south of the Silverthorne Elementary School. Questions regarding North Pond Park can be directed to recreation and culture director Joanne Breigenzer at (970) 262-7372.
