Silverthorne is celebrating Dia de los Muertos for its November First Friday on Nov. 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The celebration will be held at the Outlets at Silverthorne Blue Village in partnership with local community members.
The celebration includes face painting, live music and dancing, crafts, a pinata, a photo booth and more. There will be traditional food and drinks onsite such as champurrado and pan de muerto from Mercado La Perla and Lonchera Titi. Thirsty Pika Taproom will be serving drinks in their main taproom and at a bar in the Outlet’s central plaza. Community members can bring their First Friday cups for $1 off beer or wine.
Local artists Jessica Rodriguez, Evangelina Hernadez, Aly Lome We, Damarys Peralta and Ingrid (Kiki) Davis hand-built catrinas and altars to pay respect to those who have passed for the event. Silverthorne and Dillon Valley Elementary school dance groups, and groups representing traditional dances from Mexico, Ecuador and Peru will perform throughout the evening.
