Simone Caruthers: Right decision to cancel fireworks

Simone Caruthers
Frisco

I know many people in the county regret we will not have fireworks on the Fourth of July. As a resident of Frisco and as a resident of the State of Colorado, I appreciate the Frisco Town Council’s decision to cancel them. Many people have lost their homes. Fireworks at this time fly in the face of such a tremendous tragedy. There are fires burning all over this state. I would be offended to have fireworks as others are in shelters and homeless because of fires. We can save the fireworks for another time. Let us celebrate our freedom in a show of unity with those who are working to put the fires out.
