SUMMIT COUNTY – Traffic at the Eisenhower Tunnel recorded its 10th highest daily count in the 33 year history of the facility during the Fourth of July weekend. Between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Friday, 45,682 vehicles traveled through the tunnel, just short of previous 24-hour traffic counts during the Independence Day Weekend in 2002 and 2003 (see box at right).As of June 30, traffic is up nearly 27,000 vehicles from June 2004.
