Travelers should expect daytime, single-lane closures inside the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels later this month, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
From 6 a.m to noon on Sept. 19, 20, 26 and 27 the single-lame closures will be in place for maintenance teams to wash the walls inside the tunnel bores one more time before winter, the release states. Drivers should expect about 10-minute delays.
Westbound traffic will be impacted first, followed by eastbound traffic, according to the transportation department.
There are other roadway projects happening simultaneously along the Interstate 70 corridor, so drivers may encounter multiple work zones or lane closures, the release states.
