Westbound traffic on Interstate 70 backed up early Sunday morning after the mountains received another healthy round of snowfall and people went out in search of that powder.

Coming into Sunday morning, Breckenridge Ski Resort was reporting 15 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 23 inches in the past 48 hours, leaving the resort with more than 23 feet so far this season.

Also, Keystone Resort received a foot of new snow in the last 24 hours and 18 inches over the past 48 hours. On Twitter, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area said it got 11 inches of snow overnight.

And that was before the lifts started running. With the heavy snowfall continuing throughout Sunday morning, higher accumulations were reported in many areas across Summit County.

Meanwhile, Crested Butte received 14 inches in the past 24 hours, Beaver Creek saw 12 inches and Vail Mountain got 11 inches.

The heavy snowfall has also promoted the Colorado Avalanche Information Center to issue an avalanche warning for the northern and central mountains into Monday morning.

One man traveling on Interstate 70 even captured footage of an avalanche between Frisco and Copper Mountain and posted the video on Facebook.
