Skier dies at Breckenridge Ski Resort

A 71-year-old man died at Breckenridge Ski Resort Monday, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 1:04 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a male skier who was found unconscious on a ski run at the resort. There was no indication that the skier collided with any object, according to the report.

The man was transported to Peak 9 Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the skier is being withheld until the Summit County coroner notifies the next of kin. The coroner’s office has taken over the investigation into the cause of death.
