Skier killed at Breckenridge

A 45-year-old man died today after hitting a tree while skiing an intermediate run on Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 9 Sunday.
Robert Redmond, of Virginia, was wearing a helmet when he struck a tree on the Colombia trail. He was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, where he died from injuries caused by blunt force trauma just after 4 a.m. today.
The Summit County Coroner ruled the manner of death accidental.
It is the first skier fatality at Breckenridge Ski Resort in more than a year.
