Sleuth yourself into the new year

KIMBERLY NICOLETTIsummit daily news

If you’re looking for a little intrigue this New Year’s Eve, check into Keystone Lodge & Spa, either for dinner, or the entire night.Keystone’s Murder Mystery Dinner promises to be a scrumptious good time. As guests nibble on appetizers like trout cakes, grilled artichoke bruschetta and buffalo carpaccio on peppercorn crisps, a group of very suspicious partiers mingle with the locals – perhaps leaking a clue or two as to Whodunit. As everyone enjoys dinner – beginning with soup and organic greens, followed by herb-roasted chicken, beef tenderloin and Rocky Mountain trout paired with a bouquet of vegetables – actors reveal details of the murder.”With the emphasis on humor, the mystery unfolds with a crime that must be seen to be believed,” said Kerstin Sundberg, Keystone hospitality marketing manager. “The room is now full of suspects, as the clues and jokes fly fast and furious throughout dinner.”When the detective arrives on the scene to question everyone, no guest goes unnoticed as the sleuth tries to get to the bottom of the baffling mystery. Ultimately, guests break into teams, forming their own detective agency to solve the crime. In the end, it’s hard to know what’s sweeter: Pastry chef extraordinaire Ned Archibald’s dessert creations, including a chocolate fountain and brownie bread pudding with crme anglaise, or knowing that you helped solve the crime of the decade. But if you’re up for intrigue, make sure you reserve a seat soon; last year, Keystone’s Murder Mystery Dinner was quite a hit. “I think people enjoy the interaction with the actors and other guests, and that is why they continue to be popular,” said Autumn Wesson, Keystone’s hospitality marketing coordinator.
