Small boy injured in fall at rec center

SILVERTHORNE – A small boy was taken to Summit Medical Center after he fell and hit his head on the side of the pool at the Silverthorne Recreation Center Saturday evening.

Medical personnel asked Flight For Life helicopters to be on standby in case the boy needed to be flown to Denver.

Initial reports indicated the boy was not breathing, but by the time medical personnel arrived, he was reported to be breathing lightly.

His name, hometown, age and condition were not known immediately Saturday night.
