Small business owner supports 3A and 3B

Mark SummersFrisco

I own a small business in Frisco and remember when the tax increase hit from the school district’s mill levy in 2001. I was shocked at the price tag since it was much larger than I and many had expected. I support our schools and know that, even though I do not have children in the district, a strong school district benefits me personally because strong schools equate to a strong community, and a strong community serves my business.I am pleased to know that my yes vote this year on 3A and 3B will actually yield a decrease in both my personal as well as my business taxes, and I will know that Summit schools continue to receive the local support they require to improve our schools (and therefore strengthen our community). Currently, Colorado is 47th in the nation for funding students. We can only improve this number locally by approving measures such as the mill levy and bond. A yes vote means lower taxes than you are already paying and the necessary funding to the children in our community.
