DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

BRECKENRIDGE – Pulling off a major event like the International Snowsculpture Championships doesn’t just happen. It takes plenty of help, and the town of Breckenridge is still seeking volunteers for this year’s edition of the popular contest.Along with snow stompers, office volunteers and merchandise assistants, organizers are also still looking for some local residents willing to act as hosts for the visiting snow sculpting teams, with volunteer shifts available Jan. 9-13, Jan. 16-20, Jan. 22-Feb. 3, and Feb. 6-10. Organizers said the volunteer schedule is flexible, so residents can work the shifts around their regular schedules. This year’s competition includes teams from Russia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France and Switzerland. To volunteer, contact Kelly Graham at (970) 547-3100 or via e-mail at kellyg@townofbreckenridge.com.
