Snow storm favors Beaver Creek this time

Daily News staff report

It’s getting to where Summit County skiers and riders are expecting each new storm to thumb its nose their way – then drop the goods elsewhere.

Not to say Summit didn’t get some new snow from the storm that moved out of the area early Thursday morning, but just over Vail Pass, Beaver Creek was reporting 13 inches new. Summit County areas, meanwhile, had to be content with 2-4″ new inches.

Call it the “Summit County Doughnut,” blame it on El Nino or angry snow gods – at least forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting snowier times ahead. Come on, 2010!
