‘Snowball’ case is silly

Robert PickavanceAlexandria, Australia

With respect to the Colorado judicial system (“Mistrial delared in ‘snowball’ case” SDN, Dec. 8), but have they considered how ludicrous this trial is? From the perspective of an Australian, albeit one who has not had much experience with either “snow” or “ice” balls, taking such a matter to court can only be a waste of valuable time and resources that could be better spent on other matters.Whilst the U.S. has the highest rate of gun related crimes in the world, it would appear that throwing a snow-ball is far more serious! Surely it is time that the prosecutors and police get some perspective?
