Social Services launches new school drive

staff

SUMMIT COUNTY – Summit County Social Services is conducting a “fill-a-backpack” supply drive to aid local students.

The county department is counting on back-to-school shoppers to help fill backpacks that will be distributed to Summit County’s elementary schools. Backpacks can be picked up from the social services offices on the second floor of the County Commons in Frisco. Shoppers are asked to fill the backpack with school supplies – new pencils, 24-count boxes of crayons, plastic pencil cases, wide-ruled notebook paper, glue sticks, colored pencils and other similar supplies – and return the backpacks to social services for distribution.

The supply drive also will accept donations of supplies, cash or gift certificates to local stores.
