Social Summit: Artists’ skills on display at Summit Tattoo Invitational

The conference rooms in the Village at Breckenridge buzzed with the sounds of tattoo machines as artists carefully applied ink to skin, drawing in brilliant shades of blue, red, yellow, green and orange.

Walk-ups browsed through sketchbooks looking for inspiration in the hopes of landing some time with their favorite tattooers at the Summit Tattoo Invitational.

“Everybody is going to have books and portfolios sitting out to look at, and you can talk to the artists and see if they have time,” said Matt Dunn, of Chameleon Tattoo in Cambridge, Massachusetts. “Some of these guys don’t come to the states often, so a lot of them are booked.”

The convention, which runs afternoons through Sunday, March 22, features more than 100 artists from all over the world. Tickets are $25 at the door.
