Both Keystone Resort and Copper Mountain Resort finally opened for the season on Friday, Nov. 7, after each delayed first tracks by a week due to unseasonably warm weather and lack of natural snow.

Keystone debuted with 50 acres of skiing and riding, including top-to-bottom intermediate terrain on the Spring Dipper and River Run trails. Several hundred early risers were in line prior to the River Run Gondola opening at 9 a.m., including some guests who camped overnight to get the coveted first spot in line.

Keystone is now open for daily operations, with lifts running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find updated condition reports, live web cams and the events calendar online at http://www.keystoneresort.com. Night skiing and riding operations begin on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Throughout opening weekend at Copper, the American Eagle and Excelerator chairlifts and the Easy Rider surface lift serviced Main Vein, Rhapsody, Ptarmigan and Easy Rider trails for top-to-bottom skiing and riding. Woodward Copper’s Eagle Jib Park, located off the top of the American Eagle, is open, too.
