Nearly 100 kids and parents attended the grand opening of the new Kingdom Park playground Tuesday afternoon. As children filled the new rope tower, Breckenridge Councilwoman Wendy Wolfe asked the crowd to give a “thumbs up or thumbs down” on how they like the new playground. The unofficial count came in as a huge success. She said the budget for the project, which was $160,000, came in on time and on budget. She also recognized former Recreation Advisory Committee member Dee Phelps on her work and persistence to bring more playgrounds to Breckenridge.

The playground has six features and is also ADA accessible, with a convenient gravel pathway all around the site and a smooth rubberized surface below about half of the features. Staff from the Breckenridge Recreation Department and the Breckenridge Parks Department were also in attendance.
