"I like getting to make cool things, using things in your real life, and making functional pieces," said Luke Egging, adding that this piece is his favorite.

Tables full of artwork representing four years of output by Summit High School seniors filled the high school’s lobby on Friday, May 15. Artists explained their work to passing friends and family members and stole moments here and there to check out fellow students’ creations, which ranged from pottery to paintings and drawings to textiles.

Most of the pieces were available to purchase, with many of the potters pointing out the functionality of their bowls, plates and mugs. A lot of the artists said working at their various crafts provided a window of relaxation, as well as a creative outlet.
