Soldiers serving in war appreciate contributions from Summit County; family sends back thanks

I can’t begin to thank Summit County, including the Rotary Club, businesses, individuals and children for the donations, prayers, thoughts and messages to our troops.

My nephew Staff Sgt. Michael Ray and his family, including me, can’t begin to tell you what it means to our service people.

Brenda Cameron and I really thank you for showing us what Summit County folks are made of.

We are sending your donations out again this week. We are now sending to two local men and those around them, plus one platoon.

Although they may not get to thank you individually, we pass on their thanks to you. Michael’s wife, Shannon, thanks Rotary and the rest of you for all the support you give to Michael and those with him. “It feels so good knowing we are all around them in their lives. We feel truly blessed,” she noted.

I’m sure the people receiving packages would thank you individually, but they are otherwise engaged in activities in Iraq. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you one and all.
