Soldiers want smoking allowed on vacation

Margaret EvinvilleFort Lauderdale, Fla.

I am in the process of planning a retreat ski vacation for my son and his 18 army buddies who will be returning from Iraq in December. Breckenridge was a consideration until I was informed that they do not wish to be isolated in a community where there is no smoking. They have served a year in Iraq to defend the freedom of our country and cannot understand how the freedom of the right to smoke in bars has been taken away. It is a shame, as we have been to Breckenridge numerous times and must now find a ski area that will accommodate the rights of these heroic soldiers.
