Speakeasy rolling film again

Kimberly Nicoletti

BRECKENRIDGE – The Speakeasy Movie Theatre will open today with “Dog Town and Z-boys,” a documentary about how skateboarding came to life. Showtimes are 6 and 8:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3, 6 and 8:45 p.m. Sunday and 6 and 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

“It’s pretty funky,” new co-owner Guy Natanel said. “Although it sounds like it will only appeal to kids and skateboarders, it’s well made and quite catching.”

On June 21, the Speakeasy will have its opening-night party, including hors d’oeuvre and belly dancers. The evening will be a fund raiser for the Avon Breast Cancer three-day walk from Boulder to Denver. Tickets are available only for the opening night at the front office at Colorado Mountain College. Look for a feature story in the June 21 etc section for more information on Natanel and the opening-night party. For information, call the Speakeasy at (970) 453-7243.
