Want to get into mountain biking but aren't sure what bike to get? Always wanted to try a fat bike, but never had anywhere to test it?

The Frisco Adventure Park and Wilderness Sports have the perfect remedy with a free bike demo today. The Frisco Sunday Funday event gives participants the chance to try out 30 to 40 different bikes from SalsaCycles, Specialized, Santa Cruz, Julianna and Cervelo.

Whether you're looking for your first mountain bike or the bike that takes your jump game to the next level, the demo will have you covered.

"It's a family day to come out and try different bikes," Frisco Adventure Park General Manager John Zdechlik said. "Where else could you get that many bikes at one time?"

Bikes for adults of all skill levels will be on hand throughout the day, beginning at 11 a.m. Different styles will also be available, including fat bikes, full-suspension, fat bike full-suspensions and road bikes. Unfortunately, the demo manufacturers are supplying adult-sized bikes only — there won't be any sized for kids.

"SalsaCycles will be bringing their Bucksaw bike, and folks will have the opportunity to check out a full-suspension fat bike, which is confusing the lines between 'fatbike' and 'full-suspension mountain bike,'" said Clay Schwarck, bicycle buyer and corporate sales and marketing manager for Wilderness Sports. "It is a ride you won't forget."

The bike park at Frisco Adventure Park is nearly 100 percent open and will have a variety of terrain to ride, including jumps, berms and pump tracks. For beginners, the Sunday Funday is a great opportunity to try mountain biking before financially committing to it. And not only are the bikes free — so is the entire bike park, along with singletrack trails on the connected Frisco Peninsula.

The mini pump track and beginner cross-country course at the Frisco bike park are good places for newcomers and even veterans to get a feel for the bikes. More advanced riders can hit the gravity courses and jumps, which are excellent testing grounds for pushing a bike's limit. You can also compare bikes by racing a friend on the dual slalom course.

"We are really excited to host this demo day at the Frisco Adventure Park because it is the base camp for so many great trails on the Frisco Peninsula," Schwarck said.

Helmets are required to participate in the demo and Zdechlik advises bringing a jacket, as there is a chance of rain in the forecast. Hot dogs and hamburgers will also be available for purchase.
