A couple weeks after its successful season came to an end, the accolades continue to poor in for the Summit High hockey team.

The Tigers had eight players named to either the Foothills All Conference team or the All-State Academic team.

Senior forward Shamus O’Neill was named to the all-conference first team after he finished the season as one of the state’s leading scorers. He was also the lone Tiger to make the all-state team, earning first-team honors.

Fellow senior Jon Gutierrez earned honorable mention for the Foothills Conference, as did junior defenseman Kyle Metzger.

Metzger was also one of four Tigers selected to the state’s academic first team. Joining him on that list were Dylan Junkenmier, Dylan Horan and Dake Dice.

Last Saturday, O’Neill, Gutierrez and senior defenseman Sonny Magrino played in the Colorado Senior All Star Game in Denver.

O’Neill netted a goal in a 4-2 win for the Foothills Conference. Gutierrez had two assists in the game.
