McGrew, Krone of Team Summit top podiums at SYNC Colorado Cup at Copper Dec. 29-30

SYNC COLORADO SKI CUP — DEC. 29-30

Team Summit Colorado hosted two slalom races on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 at Copper Mountain. The post-holiday racing treated athletes with TSC well, including two up-and-coming slalom specialists. Skiers Megan McGrew and Kevin Krone topped the podium for the women's and men's events on both days.

Tuesday, Dec. 29

Day one saw McGrew take the gold for the women by 2.82 seconds, with Krone charging the hill to win by 2.9 seconds.

Other TSC athletes in the top-20 for the women included Abigail Murer in 10th, Heidi Livran in 14th and Rachel Smith in 18th.

On the men's side, RJ McLennan took 10th for TSC.

Wednesday, Dec. 30

On the second day of slalom racing McGrew again skied to a win for the women by 3.01 seconds, with fellow TSC tech specialist Jordan Watts taking third.

The second day of men's slalom saw Krone ski flawlessly for another gold, taking the win by 2.74 seconds.
