French Gulch, Summit Trail Series No. 1 — June 8

The first event of the annual Summit Trail Running Series, held on 5K and 8K courses in the French Gulch trail system east of Breckenridge. The Wednesday afternoon event drew more than 120 male and female runners who competed in seven age divisions for each distance. Team Breck at Mount Hood

The Team Breckenridge alpine team is about halfway through an eight-day camp at Mount Hood, Oregon.

Before the team left on June 17, a group of 12 skiers got plenty of time under the sun and on the glacier snow.

Between crashing gates, the skiers and their coaches had plenty of R&R — also known as conditioning hikes — in the lush woods around the resort.

Foothills Flairs Invite, Silverthorne Storm Gymnastics — June 4

The second youth gymnastics meet of the summer season, hosted by the Foothills Flairs team at the Lily Gulch Recreation Center in Littleton on June 4. The three-round meet drew six teams and 150 athletes from across the state, including Silverthorne, Thornton, Gunnison, Peak, Mountain and the host team.

The Storm had 33 girls competing in all three divisions, or meets. In youth gymnastics, top-6 finishers get ribbons and Storm finished with 15 first-place finishes, more than 20 ribbon finishes and an All-Around (AA) champion for each meet.

A look at the top Storm finishers:

Lily Hess — 29.55, placing first in AA, floor and vault

Sierra Durloo — 34.25, placing first in AA, floor, bars and beam

Stephanie Fuentes — 32.8, placing first in AA and floor, second in every other event
