DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

On Feb. 20, three officers with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office participated in the 36th Annual Colorado Peace Officers Ski/Snowboard Race on the Golden Peak Course in Vail.

The team brought home the first place trophy this year after finishing in third place in 2007.

The trophy is proudly displayed in the Sheriff’s Office lobby and will remain there until next year’s competition.

The members of the Sheriff’s Office team, Mark Watson, Wes Mumford, and a Drug Task Force Agent, also accomplished significant individual rankings.

Deputy Watson ranked second in the overall competition, followed by Detective Mumford in fourth place, and the DTF Agent in fifth place.
