BRECKENRIDGE ” The Summit High School hockey team’s first-round state tournament game has been postponed until Saturday afternoon due to the major winter storm that’s whipping through the High Country.

The 12th-seeded Tigers were to have faced No. 5 Regis tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena in Breckenridge; instead, they’ll meet Saturday afternoon at 3:15, same place.

The other first-round game that was to have taken place in Breckenridge tonight, between Rampart and Cheyenne Mountain, will take place in Colorado Springs instead. The winner of that game will meet the winner of Summit’s game in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Breckenridge.

Summit is attempting to return to the Frozen Four after a surprise berth last year.
