If nothing else, head coach Matt Zeiset said his team at least knows what it needs to work on in practice.

The Tiger soccer squad lost 6-0 Monday in a league match at Evergreen High School.

“Evergreen was a solid team and really moved the ball around well and beat us in a number of aspects of the game,” Zeiset said. ” … We can work on a lot of things to move toward the future.”

The Tigers did play hard, though, Zeiset said, and he was happy with how the team competed even while struggling.

“The guys fought through the last whistle,” he said, “and that was great to see.”

The road for the Tigers (1-3-3) doesn’t get any easier this week, as they play a pair of home games against D’Evelyn and Ridgeview.

“(D’Evelyn) will be another tough team, so we’ll get ready and see what we can do,” he said.

Summit hosts D’Evelyn Thursday at 6 p.m., and the match with Ridgeview is Saturday at 1 p.m.
