Golfers will get a chance to break out their clubs Friday, May 15, as the River Course at Keystone opens with 18 holes of play. The par-71, Hurdzan Fry-designed course includes a full-service golf shop, on-site restaurant, practice green and driving range.
Keystone’s courses — The River Course and Keystone Ranch Golf Course, opening Friday, May 29 — provide a combined 36 holes of championship golf for golfers of all abilities at 9,280 feet above sea level.
“The golf offering at Keystone is truly unmatched in Colorado,” said Steve Corneillier, Keystone Resort’s director of golf and recreation. “We have 36 holes designed by world-renowned course architects, the perfect summer climate to enjoy play throughout the day and a lively resort atmosphere, making it a destination the whole family can enjoy.”
The River Course offers impressive elevation changes, variable bunkers, water hazards and five sets of tees on each hole to challenge and welcome golfers of all abilities, while The Ranch Course is set on historic ranch land, where original structures remain throughout the course, providing a nostalgic feel. Golf rates begin at $55, with a variety of options available, including 9-, 18- and 36-hole rates, numerous season passes and junior rates.
Programs and packages
Throughout the summer, visitors can take advantage of various programs and clinics, including private lessons with PGA teaching professionals, Ladies Play Days, group clinics and junior programs. Weekly events, clinics and play days provide golfers with a variety of options throughout the summer, including free nightly Junior Golf for anyone 17 and younger. Families or newcomers can take advantage of Time for Nine rates and SNAG (Starting New at Golf), a development program designed for new players, both children and adults, with a $15 per family rate, including equipment.
Keystone also offers package deals for friends, families and groups, providing avid golfers and those simply looking for a quick nine a way to customize their play. The Stay, Play & Save offer provides savings of as much as 33 percent on lodging and golf packages, while Ski & Tee allows guests to enjoy the best of two seasons with skiing or riding at nearby Arapahoe Basin Ski Area prior to afternoon golf at Keystone.
With any two-night or longer stay booked through Keystone Property Management, every member of the group receives Play for Free benefits, including a free nine holes of golf on the evening of arrival, free yoga classes, free guided hikes and free scenic gondola tickets for children 12 and younger.
Memberships to The River Course Golf Club are available and include unlimited golf at The River Course and Keystone Ranch, dedicated member tee times on weekends and holidays, year-round member events, family-focused activities, access to the Keystone Spa and Tennis Center and more.
