FARMER’S KORNER – Thirty Summit High School seniors will display their best artwork tonight at the inaugural SHS Senior Art Show from 5-7 p.m.

“We’ve had other shows that have showcased all our students,” said SHS art teacher Harriet Hoffman. “The idea was to celebrate those that are about to graduate and the work they’ve done throughout their four years.”

The show will feature works from ceramics, photography, jewelry, painting and sculpture classes.

According to Hoffman, the pieces on display represent a wide spectrum of the students’ stages in their artistic careers.

“There’s a huge range of experience expressed. It’s great for students at all levels and abilities to get excited about how art impacts and influences them,” Hoffman said.

Refreshments will be served at the one-night-only show, and guests will have the opportunity to talk to the artists about their work.

“Each student is also writing an artist statement that talks about art in general, what it means to them and how it connects to their life,” Hoffman added.
