St. Anthony Summit Medical Center to unveil and dedicate statue of St. Anthony

Daily News staff report

On Monday, St. Anthony Summit Medical Center will have a dedication ceremony to commemorate the unveiling of a new statue of St. Anthony.

The new sculpture will be permanently placed at the front entrance of the hospital. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in front of the main entrance.

St. Anthony Summit Medical Center is a part of Centura Health, a faith-based organization with a mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill, and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities.

Since the hospital’s mission draws from the life of St. Anthony, he will be celebrated during the ceremony.

“We are privileged and blessed to be a part of a health care network that honors our faith-based ministry and mission. This valuable piece of artwork is a symbol to the community of our heritage and pledge to serve the health care needs of our community,” said Paul Chodkowski, the hospital’s president and chief executive officer.
