"Staffing changes’ at Wells Fargo

FRISCO – Wells Fargo bank officials fired numerous tellers from their Frisco and Dillon branches Wednesday, presumably on accusations of embezzlement, two anonymous sources told the Summit Daily Thursday.

“We have had some staffing changes,” said Kristie Drumm, vice president of corporate communications. “It’s a private matter. To respect the privacy of our team members, we can’t divulge any other information.”

Wells Fargo district manager Margaret Kral also declined to comment.

It is not known how many people might have been fired from the bank branches. All Summit County Wells Fargo branches are open.

Wells Fargo has three branches in Summit County: one in Breckenridge at the City Market shopping center, one near the Wal-Mart in Frisco and another inside City Market in Dillon.

It is not uncommon for banks not to report internal investigations to the local police, especially if they are able to get restitution from the employees, said Dillon Police Chief Gary Cline. His town’s police log has no reports of any Dillon Wells Fargo Bank employee being arrested.
