Steep Gullies Gauntlet raises over $30K for Summit County Rescue Group

The first Steep Gullies Gauntlet fundraiser raised over $30K for Summit County Rescue Group. The event had teams of two do as many laps as they could on the expert Steep Gullies terrain at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and was followed by a taco dinner and raffle.

Participants raised $8,724 in pledges. Rescue Group spokesperson Anna DeBattiste said raffle totals are still being tallied but that the group raised over $30,000 in all.

River Mentch skied the most laps at 14, and Kate and Tim Zander skied 12 laps while raising the most money.

Proceeds are going toward a new headquarters for the rescue group.
