Steve Beck: Voting against all tax increases

Steve Beck

The property taxes due in 2010 on my home went up 38 percent over 2009. This why I am voting against all tax increases and for all tax decreases. I made no changes or improvements to my home. I protested the assessors valuation but was essentially ignored. Not one comparable sale could be cited by the assessor. At least 35 of my neighbors experienced similar increases.

Unreasonable tax increases like this are what lead to ballot measures the tax-and-spend proponents would like us to believe are unreasonable. But please don’t let them fool you.
