S’thorne Auto Group to be revamped

SILVERTHORNE ” The Silverthorne Auto Group dealership on West 9th Street in Silverthorne is getting revamped.

Company owners plan to demolish the existing building on the 4-acre lot and replace it with a larger updated structure with a service shop and a deli inside.

The automotive dealership is located on Highway 9 between Annie Road and 9th Street. It’s owned by Spraddle Creek Automotive Real Estate and sells Subaru, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, GMC, Pontiac, Buick and Cadillac models.

The owner’s representative Tony Baxter, of Baxter Construction, told the Silverthorne Town Council last month that the idea to put a deli in the dealership is to provide customers with more of an experience while they’re waiting for their cars.

“Normally you see people sitting in the service area trying to listen to the radio, listening to the lady argue with the service tech, ‘Why’d you charge me so much?'” Baxter said.

Council members told Baxter they were pleased to see the improvements, before approving a site plan for the project. The town council still has to give the project a final approval.
