Still frigid but schools on normal schedule today

From Summit School District:

Summit School District is in Session and Buses are Running their Regular Schedule

Thursday, February 3rd

Brrr,…It sure is cold in Summit School District!

Summit School District extends our gratitude to the many staff members and families who partnered with us to make sure our students were safe during the extremely cold temperatures Wednesday morning.

District leadership makes every effort to decide the status of school operations by 6:00 a.m. each school day. Staff was prepared to run a normal schedule Wednesday morning until staff arrived on site and had a chance to better evaluate current weather conditions and the extremely cold temperatures. After careful deliberation, leadership decided to run a two hour delay shortly after 6:15 a.m. Please know that the decision to run a two hour delay was made with the best interests of our students in mind.

During these arctic days of winter, we encourage families and students to wear appropriate winter weather attire for the cold temperatures and wind chill, especially when walking to and from bus stops and on school grounds. Thank you.
