Stuart Adams: Groneman, Pacot for school board

Stuart Adams

As a former five-year member of the Summit District School Board, I’d like to offer endorsements to two candidates in this year’s elections.

Sheila Groneman is the experienced candidate, having already served a term on the board. Along with her experience, Sheila well understands the critical education issues especially early childhood education and 21st century learning. Sheila has demonstrated a familiarity with district policies and practices and has proven her leadership capabilities.

In addition to a candidate with experience, I recommend Guy Pacot. Guy is a new-comer to the school district scene, but is hardly a new-comer to Summit County, having lived here since 1981. He and his wife have raised a daughter who is a graduate of Summit High. Guy offers fresh perspectives and is a quick study. From my experience on the board, I know that the issues that will come up over the course of a term cannot be anticipated at the outset and the ability to learn on the fly is a critical asset. Guy has that ability. Beyond that he has the passion to be a committed as well as a thoughtful board member.

I urge every voter in Summit District to turn out and vote on Nov. 3. And I urge you to seriously consider these two worthy candidates.
