Students deserve the best we can give them

Daily Staff Writer

Our son, Noah, has been attending Silverthorne Elementary for the last few years and we have been very involved in his classes. We can see many great benefits with the new school. This year, the classroom temperature is comfortable and constant versus the old building where his classroom was so warm that you felt sleepy enough to take a nap. There are classrooms for each subject being taught instead of teachers traveling with carts to the classroom. There is adequate room not only for the classes themselves, but also for storage. The overall school is phenomenal. And to think that it was built on time and under budget. Thank you to all those responsible for ensuring our tax dollars were well spent. The children and the exceptionally committed teachers we have deserve the very best learning environment possible. Smaller classes benefit everyone. We do not want our child slipping through the cracks because there isn’t enough time and attention available for his needs. We cannot think of anyone who would like to learn or work in substandard conditions.Let us strive for excellence. Even though we do not know all of the details, we still think that the school board took the appropriate steps in correcting the problems with Lynn Spampinato. What a difference it has made. Thank you to the school board for making such a difficult decision. Instead of just expressing and/or harboring ill feelings, get involved. Each and every one of us can volunteer, whether we have children in school or not. You would benefit as much or more than the children. It’s a great way to remember the essentials we should have learned in kindergarten. All of our children, whether in elementary, middle or high school deserve the very best we can give them. We encourage every one to vote yes on 3A and 3B.
