Undoubtedly the best part about Summit County is its natural beauty. What better way to explore that beauty than by recreating on one of the community’s many trails?

The Summit Daily News is asking readers to submit photos to our Scenic Summit Trails photo gallery through May 5. In addition to submitting photos, readers must also include the trail’s name, what part of Summit County it is in along with the year and the season it was taken. Readers can submit an unlimited amount of photos through the deadline.

Images of summer and fall months have a higher chance of being published.

A handful of images will be chosen to be featured in the Friday issues of Summit Daily News through the month of April beginning Friday, April 21, as well as in an online photo gallery. Some images may also be used in our Explore Summit Trail Guide to be published later this spring.

To submit your photos, visit SummitDaily.com/scenictrails.

As a Summit Daily News reader, you make our work possible.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
