Successful Child Conference set for Saturday

The third annual Successful Child Conference is set for Saturday at Beaver Run Conference Center. The keynote speaker will be world-renowned early childhood expert Dr. Lilian Katz. Dr. Katz is speaking on “Fostering Young Children’s Social Competence.” She will also be conducting a workshop for early childhood teachers. Other workshop presenters include Dr. Marianne Neifert (Dr. Mom), Constant Hine, Jenny Lerner and Craig Hart. Event coordinators anticipate approximately 300 attendees.

“This is a unique, local event for parents of young children and early childhood professionals,” said spokeswoman Elizabeth Edgar Lowe in an e-mail. “The conference is organized by Early Childhood Options, Family and Intercultural Resource Center, Summit Prevention Alliance, Summit County government,

St. Anthony Summit Medical Center, Summit County Head Start and Summit School District.”
