Abby and Duke Hatcher enjoy an early summer hike on Peak 9 complete with snow
Holly Hatcher / Special to the Daily |

While in Summit there is always a reason to go outside and play, the summer sun has called many locals to the great outdoors. Whether racing solar cars as part of the 2015 Colorado Solar Rollers Trophy Race or traveling to Peru or Morocco, Summit residents know how to get out and enjoy the season while it lasts.

While the sun has melted off the snow in town, on the peaks there are still mounds to be found, as evidenced by Abby and Duke Hatcher’s early summer hike on Peak 9.
